Unirac’s GRIDFLEX® racking systems are domestically produced and have all the key features that customers value. GRIDFLEX® 5D and GRIDFLEX® 10D may provide taxpayers with an option to claim the 10% Domestic Content Bonus Credit (DCBC)*!

Under the IRS’s First Updated Safe Harbor Guidance (Notice 2025-08), the GRIDFLEX® racking systems may contribute up to 19.6% of the total 50% domestic content requirement for a complete PV installation for MLPE based systems. When paired with select domestic content inverters on the market, the GRIDFLEX® 5D and GRIDFLEX® 10D racking systems can play a pivotal role in meeting the 50% domestic content threshold. Unirac has documentation for your tax professionals to help them determine if GRIDFLEX® racking systems work with your or your financer’s tax strategy.

System Components

To build a fully functional GRIDFLEX® 5D & GRIDFLEX® 10D systems, the following components are required:

Rail Stiffener

The Rail Stiffener installs over the south-to-mid rail overlap, adding extra rigidity and reinforcing stability along the south row of modules. 

GRIDFLEX 10D, Rails

GRIDFLEX 5D, Rails
Mid Rail

The Mid Rail provides support for field modules while increasing system stability. Each rail includes printed installation guides to ensure precise placement of South Clamps, North Stanchions, Ballast Rails, attachments, and overlap measurements, streamlining the installation process.

The South Rail runs perpendicular to the Module Clamps, adding rigidity to the system and providing support for the south row of modules. Each rail features printed installation guides that simplify placement of South Clamps, row attachments, and overlap measurements for faster, more accurate installs.

The Ballast Rail holds ballast blocks like a tray beneath the module, distributing weight evenly and enhancing system load sharing for improved stability.

The Wind Deflector attaches to the North Stanchion to reduce wind uplift forces and enhance system load sharing for greater overall stability.

GRIDFLEX 5D, Clamps
North Stanchion

The North Stanchion secures the north edge of the module to the base rails, creating a fixed 5° tilt for reliable system alignment and stability. 

GRIDFLEX 10D, Clamps
North Stanchion

The North Stanchion secures the north edge of the module to the base rails, creating a fixed 10° tilt for reliable system alignment and stability.

South Clamp

The South Clamp secures the south edge of the module to the base rails with a clevis pin connection, allowing the module to hinge open for easy access beneath the panel.

The Roof Pad mounts to the base rail to protect roof surfaces and provide slip resistance, helping stabilize the system.
