RM™5 is a south-facing, 5-degree ballasted mounting system engineered for maximum layout flexibility and installation speed on flat roofs. With just a few core components, integrated bonding, and snap-in hardware, RM5 simplifies every step from logistics to installation. Optional wind deflectors and roof attachments help reduce ballast and meet site-specific structural requirements. Combine that with Unirac’s wire management, MLPE mounting, and industry-best commercial project support, and you’ve got a complete solution backed by a 25-year warranty.

System Components

To build a fully functional RM5 system, the following components are required:

BAYS
BALLAST BAY

Durable, modular, and built for the roof. Made from high-strength, low-alloy steel with a corrosion-resistant coating. Its nesting design optimizes shipping, while the flexible layout adapts to roof obstructions and surface variations for faster, easier installs.

CLAMPS
CLAMPS & hARDWARE

Secure and compliant. Made from stainless steel, the Module Clamp supports various frame heights as labeled and is part of Unirac’s UL 2703 Listed system. Installs easily with included ¼-20 stainless steel bolt and u-nut for a reliable, code-compliant connection.

WIND DEFLECTORS
DEFLECTORS

Made from 18-gauge G180 steel, the wind deflector reduces ballast requirements and supports fire mitigation. Installs with a ¼-20 stainless steel bolt and 1.5″ O.D. fender washer for secure attachment.

MID SUPPORT
MID SUPPORT

Constructed from Galvalume steel, Mid Supports add critical downforce support for larger modules and sites with high wind or snow loads.
