Snap chalk line ¼” below the upslope edge of shingle course. Rafter Mount
Position FLASHLOC DUO with the sealant port upslope and align to the chalk line. Fasten with the two rafter screws and backfill all pilot holes with sealant.
Direct-to-Deck Mount
Position FLASHLOC DUO the same way and install the two rafter screws. Add four deck screws through the deck-mount locations using a drill, not an impact, to avoid overtightening. Tighten securely but do not overdrive the screws.
Inject Unirac-approved sealant into the port until it appears at the vent, following the manufacturer’s guidance. If the mount sits over a shingle gap or joint, add sealant at the upslope edge. Trim shingles if needed and avoid spanning height changes over 1/8 inch. Flash any exploratory holes outside the sealed area.
