Installer Sales Specialist (Florida)

This position is responsible for supporting our sales activities in the field, specifically in Florida (Miami, Orlando, Tampa). This includes pre-sale demonstration and post-sale training of Unirac products and product tools (e.g., U-Builder). The position will also support maintaining and developing customer relationships through frequent customer calls as needed. This role receives feedback from customers, gathers competitor intelligence information and disseminates information to appropriate internal parties. The Installer Sales Specialist will coordinate resources and materials for training, will train other sales personnel, as well as coordinate and plan schedules for upcoming events.

 

Primary Responsibilities / Duties:
  • Plan, prepare and execute product orientation trainings for all Unirac products often including at installation sites
  • Plan, prepare and execute on other trainings as needed
  • Plan, prepare and execute field trials with existing and potential customers
  • Perform field support for new products including development and implementation of quality launch/installation training plan
  • Identify, formulate and disseminate best practices of using Unirac products
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing customers at all levels in coordination with the Strategic Account Manager and Regional Sales Director
  • Support the organization, planning and construction associated with regional Unirac events
  • Perform field investigations including travel to installation sites
  • Identify, formulate and disseminate best practices of using Unirac products
  • Provide feedback for Product Development, Engineering Services, Sales and any other team that can benefit for information gathered by this position in carrying above duties
Experience / Skill Requirements:
  • Knowledge of Unirac products and competitor products
  • Understanding of mechanical installation concepts, practices and procedures
  • Ability to work on both roof and ground mount systems
  • Capable of transferring knowledge and training others
  • Basic construction knowledge, building application and installation
  • Familiarity with OSHA 10 construction
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Microsoft PowerPoint and presentation skills in large groups
  • Must be able to read, interpret, translate, explain technical processes or procedures or concepts
  • Ability to utilize U Builder along with other outside design tools for customer engagement
  • Capability of utilizing Sales Force for customer sales and logging training
Educational Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • NABCEP installer certification
Travel Requirements:
  • Travel is a critical component of this job. The travel requirements for this position are greater than 50% of the time
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
  • This position works mostly with installers and customers in the field and oftentimes on a roof with customers. This position also works from a home office. This position spends time in the office, on a roof, and on the road.

This person in this position should have the ability to walk, climb and lift 90 pounds. Ability to climb ladders, work on roofs with up to 45-degree pitch and up to 60+ feet.

Structural Engineer

You will have an opportunity to work on projects throughout North America - coordinating with customers of all sizes, jurisdictions, and 3rd party engineering firms. This position is a critical role in helping our customers successfully execute their solar projects. This position is full time, exempt, and offers a competitive benefits package.

 

Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Designs and develops systems to provide photovoltaic mounting solutions to Unirac’s customers
  • Researches PV mounting options utilizing Unirac products and provides designs and support for those solutions
  • Collects and reports information on the ability and capacity of company products and competing equipment to support the development of new PV mounting solutions
  • Coordinates with external third party engineers to generate final designs and certified permit documents
  • Acts as technical liaison to the sales team
  • Position relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and performs a variety of complex tasks
  • Position may lead and direct the work of others
  • A wide degree of creativity is expected and latitude provided
  • Interacts closely with customers to provide consulting as well as technical support on Unirac’s products
  • May work with product dev. team to create and/or maintain internal and customer interactive quoting tools
  • Provides product application training to customers and colleagues through phone, webinars and onsite visits
  • Willing to travel (as required)
  • Serve as a mentor and help improve the knowledge and skills of other Applications Engineers
  • Assist product development team with development/implementation of new products and their application to projects
Skill Requirements:
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience in the engineering field (Structural experience preferred)
  • Extensive knowledge of building codes is required
  • Experience designing or installing with a wide degree of creativity
  • Knowledge of AutoCad and STAAD is beneficial
  • Skilled in Excel spreadsheet usage required
  • Experience designing cold formed and hot rolled steel, aluminum and concrete structures is a plus
Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field (civil/structural/mechanical)
Other Requirements:
  • Office location is in Albuquerque, New Mexico (this is not a remote position)
  • Up to 10% travel may be required

Structural Engineering Manager/PE (Solar PV Structural Engineering)

Job Summary
  • Manages the Engineering Services Department which designs and develops systems to provide solar photovoltaic (PV) racking and mounting solutions to Unirac’s customers
  • Designs and develops systems to provide solar PV mounting solutions to Unirac’s customers
  • Manages engineering team workload and process flow to improve efficiency and throughput in solar PV mounting system designs for Unirac’s customers
  • Ensures quote requests; customer service issues and engineering projects are completed on time and within budget. * Manages business relationship with 3rd party engineering firms
  • Coordinates with external 3rd party engineers to generate final designs and certified permit documents * Provides direct support to the Product Development Team regarding the design, testing, and adoption of new or revised products.
  • Works with product dev. team to create and/or maintain internal and customer interactive quoting tools * Act as technical liaison to the sales team.
  • Interacts closely with customers to provide consulting as well as technical support on Unirac’s products
  • Provides product application training to customers and colleagues through phone, webinars and onsite visits * Interfaces with the design community and code compliance community to ensure Unirac is on the leading edge of design methodology and application techniques.
  • Continually educate self and team on application methods and standards within the industry.
Skill Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in structural engineering/8+ preferred
  • Must be familiar with a variety of engineering design and application concepts, practices, and procedures (e.g., structural, geotechnical, construction management, International Building Code)
  • Experience designing cold formed and hot rolled steel, aluminum, and concrete structures
  • Experience with software tools
  • Required: Excel (high proficiency), AutoCAD
  • Preferred: STAAD, Inventor/SolidWorks * Work with peers and cross-functional teams to provide excellent customer service
  • Position relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and perform a variety of complex tasks
  • Solar PV and UL2703 code application experience and knowledge preferred
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) required, Master of Science in Civil Engineering (MSCE) preferred
  • Licensed Professional Engineer preferred
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
  • Office environment, manufacturing shop, test lab, and in-field environments
  • In-field environments include climbing ladders to get onto residential roofs, climbing scaffolding to get onto commercial roofs, and being present on a large site for a ground mount system. * Ability to be in sun, heat, cold, or damp conditions for extended portions of a day required.
  • Sitting, standing, and bending required (standing desks are provided so more or less standing can be accommodated within the office environment)
