Commercial Account Manager

The Commercial Account Manager is responsible for ensuring successful execution of solar racking projects with customers. The CAM works directly with our sales team to prioritize, follow up, and report project status. Customer phone and email contact on a regular basis is critical. This role requires a desire to help customers succeed, organize internal resources, and become a valuable partner to stakeholders in each assigned customer’s organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Lead introductory and business review meetings (often via calls, in-person, or at tradeshows where appropriate)
  •  Assist customers in the selection of the best Unirac solutions for their project needs – maintain and win project sales
  • Ensure that customer project inputs are complete and understood
  • Coordinate and review project design within Unirac’s Commercial Services and Engineering Services groups
  • Train customers on Unirac solutions, design tools, and support process
  • Follow up regularly with customers on projects (or list of open projects) by setting up and leading calls with customer stakeholders
  • Create project pricing proposals and get approval for GM
  • Maintain notes and status updates in the CRM system for each assigned customer and project
  • Report on project and account status updates to the sales team by setting up reports and regular meetings
  • Coordinate other account support needed by a customer with other Unirac functions (e.g., Sales, Field Support, Design Support, Engineering Stamps, Exception Letters)

Commercial Business Development Director

The Commercial Business Development Director is responsible for expanding business volume and significantly growing our account base in the C&I market, with a specific focus on large-scale, premier EPC/Developers or large project portfolio customers. In addition, this role will provide input and direction to the organization on what is needed to win in C&I on a broader scale, to help define and shape the organization.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Develop large commercial developers / EPCs.

  • Establish contact, build relationships, and develop business with top-tier EPCs and Developers.
  • Identify and capture account organization, key contacts, and functional individuals who will influence decisions.
  • Lead opportunity discovery and management of opportunity pipeline in each account
  • Determine and lead overall strategy to develop and win account
  • Determine channel strategy for each account (distributor or direct), and negotiate terms/Unirac Setup

Provide leadership and direct account coverage with internal resources to support C&I Account strategy

  • Coordinate with RSD and regional sales team to manage and grow active C&I accounts
  • Lead and provide direction for SAMs and other sales functions to manage opportunities and cover smaller leads or established C&I accounts.
  • Communicate strategy and set expectations for support activities for other internal functions – Project Managers/Commercial Support, BDRs, etc.

Help define and organize C&I process and activity across the organization.

  • Define support activities and roles needed to support coverage of C&I accounts (Proposal origination and deliver, Opportunity follow-up, the process to get the solution right,

  • Determine hand-off points – when does BDD directly handle, when does SAM or other sales resource handle, or when does an internal role handle?
  • Drive the requirements for the development of Commercial “programs” that are missing or need development (tools, software portals, integration into bidding, etc.)

Commercial Services Intern

This position is a critical role in helping our customers successfully execute their solar projects. This position is part-time, offers competitive pay, and has the potential to convert into full time employment.

 

The intern will perform the following functions to support the team:
• Perform financial analysis to determine price point and profitability for projects
• Create a financial review summary for pricing approval
• Prepare quote documents and append design documents
• Correspond with customers and internal stakeholders through email, SalesForce.com, and phone
• Review incoming customer requests for completeness and convert leads in SalesForce.com
Approximately 10%-20% of time will be spent in the office, and the remainder of the time will be work-from-home due to local COVID restrictions. This is subject to change over time. Ability to work independently and communicate via chat, web meetings, and email are critical.

The Unirac Account Manager is an integral role within a region that works closely with the larger sales and marketing team. The position systematically balances providing support to distributors, installers, and the team with proactive selling activities.

Strategic Account Manager - Chicago, IL

The Strategic Account Manager is expected to have solid product knowledge with the ability to demo specific products lines as needed to both customer groups, maintain and grow relationships and involve the surrounding team to achieve the company goals.

 

Primary Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Maintain relationships with existing installation customers.
  • Win new installers over to Unirac through expertise in our innovative products and services.
  • Grow the relationships with distribution partners by continually working with them and keeping them up to date with the latest Unirac offerings.

Engineering Manager

The Engineering Manager supports the Products team (Reporting to the Director of Product Development) and manages the day to day activities of the Product Development Engineers (on-site, remote, and offshore). The job involves the effective assignment, allocation, and deployment of PD resources against a robust product roadmap in a rapidly evolving industry. The Engineering Manager will act as a player coach – working on projects and acting as an expert technical resource to the team.

Product Development Engineer

Unirac is a national leader in the solar PV structural mounting industry. We are seeking a product development engineer with a proven track record of success. Product development engineers at Unirac work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to develop products that exceed our customer requirements with a strong focus on cost-control, manufacturability, and innovation. Product development engineers apply principles of engineering to evaluate new and existing products, utilizing state-of-the-art tools and physical testing methods. Creativity is fostered by a product development process that includes many points of internal and external feedback to ensure that design goals are accurate, and the final products are a success. As a Product Development Engineer, you will be expected to provide project and technical leadership (meeting project schedule targets and product functional, performance, and cost requirements).

 

Duties and Responsibilities

New Product Design and Development:

  • Innovate, conceive, design, engineer, and develop new products and/or improve existing products and document results in engineering and/or test reports
  • Calculate and design for optimized system-level costs for new products.
  • Bring ideas to life by creating and testing prototypes, iterating as required, to meet new product requirements.
  • Investigate new technologies, tools, and processes and make recommendations for adoption as appropriate

Product Engineering:

  • Engineer products in accordance with appropriate regulatory requirements and associated standards, such as model building and electrical codes, ASCE 7, aluminum or steel design manuals, ASTM standards, etc.
  • Select appropriate materials for applications, considering strength, deflection, cost, finish, corrosion, friction, tolerance-analysis etc.
  • Engineer products considering techniques such as design for manufacturability, assembly, reliability
  • Develop product acceptance criteria and test plans.
  • Document product designs, engineering, test results and engineering changes in engineering reports

Project Management and Technical Leadership:

  • Technical leadership including identification and application of appropriate engineering analyses and methods.
  • Develop and lead on-time execution of product development project plans

  • Innovative, think creatively, be hands-on and mechanically inclined
  • Ability to generate concepts and create physical, testable prototypes
  • Expert Proficiency in CAD and 3-D modeling, Inventor preferred
  • Comfortable with hand tools and familiarity with machine tools (mill, lathe, saw, etc.) preferred.
  • Solar PV and UL2703 code application experience and knowledge preferred
