Carlos Jerez brings his more than seven years’ experience in operations management for southern California-based solar integrators to his role at Unirac. As an installer sales specialist, Carlos enjoys sharing the best practices he developed throughout his career – from site survey, to installation and inspection – to help installers throughout California stay on top of their profession by coaching them on new products and applications. He guides them through tricky installation problems and helps them adapt to new applications, such as transitioning from rail to rail-less mounting systems, transitioning from pitched roof to flat roof, or instructing crews to become proficient on tile roofs.
“I’ll meet with a contractor and work alongside its installers from the very beginning of the project, to show them how to plan ahead, how to organize, how to become proficient,“ Carlos says.
Carlos gets on the rooftops with installers to answer in-the-moment questions they have about Unirac’s products. Since he knows the challenges installers face first-hand, Carlos knows how to structure the training to ensure they become comfortable with new products and new situations. His goal is for installers to be total experts with Unirac’s products, and to help them do their jobs more efficiently.
With his previous experience in operations, Carlos is also able to provide contractors with ways to streamline their entire processes. He is an invaluable asset to the Unirac team, as his bilingual skills assist Spanish-speaking installers. With every training he conducts, he brings direct customer feedback to Unirac—critical to helping the company continue to provide the best service possible to installers in the field.
Carlos has built strong relationships with installers in his region, and he provides incredible customer service to them—sometimes at all hours of the day.
“The confidence they have in me is great. They know they can call me for anything, and I will be there for them,” Carlos says. “This is my favorite part of the job, because I love helping people. I also love that the work that I do improves outcomes for our installer-customers and for homeowners and building owners. We’re having a bigger impact on the world,” Carlos says. “And solar is still a new field; its dynamic, growing, and changing.”
Outside of work, Carlos loves spending time with his wife and two kids. He is often outdoors – fishing, camping and hiking – or at the gym. His guilty pleasure is searching Instagram for new restaurants, and he checked off one item that was high on his bucket list when he sat in the audience during a taping of The Ellen Show.
Carlos will be in Unirac’s booth at Intersolar North America in San Diego, California, February 4- 6. If you attend the show, be sure to stop by booth 511 to say hello and learn how he can help you.
