I hope this newsletter finds you, your team, and your family safe and healthy.

The COVID-19 pandemic has created unprecedented times; a few weeks ago, nobody could have imagined that 160+ million Americans would be under some sort of shelter-in-place order, with the single goal to contain the virus and flatten the curve.

The pandemic has had significant impact on our economy, our solar industry and all our businesses: we are all adjusting to our new reality, a reality that continues to change. We are all in this fight together, and I have confidence that together we will beat the virus and overcome the challenges that come with it; I also believe that with all of our creativity and passion, we will find and invent new ways to make solar happen.

Unirac is Manufacturing and Shipping as Normal

At Unirac, we remain wholly committed to spreading Better Solar For All, and we see strong progress in our own community through the solarization of Joy Junction, our local homeless shelter. It’s in times such as this that together we are —most definitely — stronger.

Like any conscious company in uncertain times, we adjusted to prioritize the health and safety of our employees. Emotional health is of utmost importance to us as we recognize that COVID-19 creates unprecedented level of stress – isolation affects people differently. Now, more than ever, we need to reach out and support each other. Two weeks ago, the Governor of NM issued a health order. The order directs non-essential businesses to close and limit group gatherings to no more than five people. Unirac anticipated this order and implemented a work-from-home policy to ensure appropriate social distancing. When in the office, we are sure to limit the number of people in a room to no more than five.

Despite these adjustments, we continue to manufacture and ship as normal. Most importantly, we want to reassure you that our supply chain is robust and that we don’t foresee any disruptions to supplying you with the products you need. As we discussed in our last newsletter, we have a very diverse, global supply chain and have invested significant capital to make sure we have sufficient products on hand and at different points in our supply chain. We also have the right team in place to respond effectively as the global impact of COVID-19 changes. What this means for you is that if your preferred distributor happens to be closed and you are looking for products to continue your installs, please reach out to us and we will do everything in our power to help you get the products you need so you can continue your business without interruption.

How can we help you?

We are undertaking a variety of measures to support our customers. We received much positive response and feedback to our virtual trainings which allow installers to get NABCEP credits. You can learn more at Today I would like to highlight our services which provide you with proposals for homeowners and plan sets for permits. This is part of our Better Solar Starts Here Program that aims at helping you reduce your costs and grow your business.

We are offering our proposal and permitting services free of charge for the next 30 days to you, our valued customers. This is our way of saying thank you for your partnership and supporting you where we can during these times. Please call us at (505) 297-6881 or email us at for more information about these services.

We are all in this together; a crisis like the one we are facing right now, is always a powerful reminder that at the end of the day, it is the people that matter most. People are everything—not just at home but also at work. I would like to challenge all of us to share the positive stories that are happening in our lives. I would like to invite you to share your stories on Instagram, chat with us on Facebook or LinkedIn or email us. Together, we will emerge stronger and continue to spread #BetterSolarForAll.
